Volunteering
There are many opportunities available for those who want to volunteer with Hope4
Volunteering is much more than just giving your time. By volunteering you will meet new people, gain new skills and at the same time help your community. We have a number of volunteering opportunities including:
Kitchen Team
This role is unfortunately currently suspended due to Covid 19 but is being reviewed periodically. Before the pandemic, our seven day a week service saw our kitchen volunteers working as part of a small rotating team cooking delicious meals daily. They served hot drinks, and meals were cooked from scratch using donations from the public and local companies and supermarkets. Shifts usually lasted around 3 hours. We hope to be able to resume this service before too long.
Fundraiser
If you have experience in fundraising or the drive to make a difference by helping organise events, campaigns, marketing, working on grant application and much more, then join the dynamic fundraising group. Fundraisers meet monthly aiming to increase Hope4’s funding and making it sustainable.
Building Maintenance
Our small team of dedicated volunteers utilise their talents enabling us to keep the Hope Centre fit for purpose whilst saving us hundreds of pounds a year. Are you skilled in any of these areas: painting, carpentry, plumbing and kitchen deep cleaning?
IT and Social Media
We have an IT system and a growing presence on social media, both need maintaining. If you are interested in using your talents to help us with either of these vital areas do let us know.
Rugby Foodbank Warehouse Distribution
In the foodbank we need help to weigh, sort and store donated ambient food before it is made into parcels for clients to collect. Could you help with this vital work ensuring we have the right food available at all times, or meeting clients to give out food parcels?
Volunteers are part of a small team on a rota and usually come along once a week or fortnight for 3-4 hours. Volunteers also undertake some of the admin roles in the office.
Hope Ambassador
Do you enjoy public speaking and engaging others in something you are passionate about? Why not come and learn about what we do and promote our work to businesses, churches and schools encouraging them to partner with us and to understand why we do what we do.
Hope Centre Food Collection
This role is currently suspended due to Covid 19. Before the pandemic, supermarkets and other shops would kindly donate some of their surplus food which would otherwise go to landfill. This not only kept our food costs down but allowed our volunteers to cook nutritious meals for our clients using fresh ingredients. Food collection driver volunteers collected food from various outlets in the town using their own cars on a weekly rota. We hope to be able to resume this service before too long.
